The Practice Legacy
We are a well equipped independent small animal veterinary surgery, established in 2023 by Dr Teresa Burns. The practice was set up in honour of Jed, her beloved dog, who Teresa had to extremely sadly say good bye to on 15/8/2022. Jed, a gorgeous Parsons Russell Terrier was the most remarkable dog with the most beautiful, gentle soul and the most amazing spirit. He was rescued by Teresa at the age of 6 months and was by her side constantly both day and night for 15 wonderful years. Jed was beyond adored and he touched and enriched the lives of everyone he met. In the last few years of his life, among over illnesses, Jed bravely fought against liver cancer, bouncing back from major surgery with remarkable resilience, spirit and braveness. In June 2022 Jed developed pulmonary hypertension subsequently resulting in right heart failure.
Incredibly sadly, on 15th August 2022 Teresa had to make the heartbreaking decision to have Jed put to sleep. Letting Jed go to ensure he didn’t suffer when he no longer had a quality of life was the ultimate act of love for a little lad who was absolutely adored and beyond cherished.
Jed is deeply missed every second of every day. The practice has been set up to create the most wonderful legacy to this inspiring little boy and consequently, it was only fitting that the practice was also named after this truly awesome and deeply loved little guy.
